Hello my name is Amanda Severance. I am currently a senior at Michigan State University and I am studying Special Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities. I am from Holt, Michigan which is a town just outside Lansing. I was basically born and bred to be a spartan! My father graduated from Michigan State with a Doctoral Degree in Computer Science and Engineering, and my mother graduated with high honors from Michigan State University with a degree in Human Resources. My father also taught at Michigan State University for 10 years before transferring to University of Michigan to teach there. I can remember as a kid, my mother and I, watching my dad finishing up his lectures when we would come and meet him for lunch on campus. I think I kind of knew then that I wanted to be a teacher! On a more personal note, my hobbies are walking my Australian Sheepdog Cutter on Lansing's Riverwalk, shopping, and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy dancing and have danced for eighteen years of my life! I have many taken classes in ballet, pointe, hip-hop, lyrical, theatre, jazz, and tap.
